Stickle bricks are a great learning aid for young children but perhaps most importantly they are a great toy as well. With even a small amount of structure to their play, children can improve motor skills, learn basic construction techniques and experience creative play.

The bricks, although they appear spiky, they are cleverly designed so that the spikes are rounded meaning that they are safe for almost any age of child. Although recommended for children of 2 years and older, my youngest was only 8 months old when she started playing with stickle bricks and has enjoyed playing with them since.

If you are buying a set of stickle bricks for the first time, I would recommend a set that comes with wheels. Young children love to make all sorts of vehicles and the ability to easily play with their creation once completed makes wheels the most valuable asset within the box.
